One number, from everything you own and owe.
Bank accounts, shares and ETFs, crypto, gold and silver, your home, your car, your pension, and what you still owe on each of them. You type in what you have; Sunward prices what can be priced every day, and walks debts and pensions forward between your updates.
It knows Irish taxes
Capital gains tax on a sale, with the payment and return dates — 31% since Budget 2027, and the app knows 2026 sales before 7 October still count at 33%. The 38% exit tax and the eight-year deemed-disposal clock on ETFs. DIRT on savings interest. Pension relief and the State Pension. All from Revenue's own rules, described, never advised. Updated the day the Budget changed them.
It looks forward
Three honest guesses at your net worth at 65, and whether that pot lasts to 90 on what you'd want to live on. What a lump sum would save on the mortgage. How your mix compares with Irish households.
No bank logins. Ever.
Sunward never connects to your bank or broker. You enter totals in a minute a week. The most dangerous data is data that never exists.
Encrypted on your phone
Locked with a passphrase only you know. The server stores one scrambled file it cannot open. See how it works →
Sunward is a net-worth tracker, not a financial adviser. It describes and compares; the decisions stay yours.
A key only you hold. A file we cannot read.
Most finance apps keep your numbers where their staff, their host, or an attacker could read them. Sunward encrypts everything on your phone first. The server only ever sees the result.
Help & support
One person builds Sunward, and the same person answers the email: hello@outerrimlabs.app. Expect a reply within a day or two, usually sooner. Bug reports with a screenshot go to the front of the queue.
Quick answers to the common ones: the app's own FAQ lives under Profile → How Sunward works. Forgotten vault passphrase — your twelve recovery words open it (how that works); if both are gone, nobody can open the vault, including us. Deleting your data or account: see the privacy policy below — both work from inside the app in one tap, or by email without it.
Android: Sunward is in closed testing — join the beta. iPhone: coming after the beta; leave your email and you'll hear the day it flies.
Privacy policy
Last updated 20 September 2026. This is the whole policy; there is no longer version.
Who we are
Sunward is made by Outer Rim Labs, a one-person app studio in Ireland. Contact: hello@outerrimlabs.app. Outer Rim Labs is the data controller for the little personal data the app holds.
What the app stores, and how
The financial facts you type (balances, quantities, purchase dates and costs, debt terms, pension values, which tickers you follow) and one history point per day. All of it is encrypted on your phone, into a single file, with a key derived from a vault passphrase that never leaves your device. That encrypted file is stored on servers in the EU (Ireland, Supabase). We cannot decrypt it. Neither could an attacker with full access to the database, nor a court order: the result is one scrambled file per person, with no readable amounts or asset types.
Unencrypted, the server holds only what it needs to run an account: your email address, a hashed login password, whether two-factor authentication is on, and the encrypted vault file. Market prices are public data shared by everyone and are not personal data.
What the app deliberately does not store
Bank logins, card numbers, IBANs, transactions, your name, your address, your phone number. The app never connects to a bank or broker. Your birth year and retirement figures, if you enter them, live inside the encrypted vault like everything else — unreadable to us.
What leaves your phone, and to whom
Your email address and the encrypted vault file go to Supabase (EU region) to sign you in and to sync. Sign-in and password-reset emails are sent through Resend (EU region); they contain no images or tracking. Ticker symbols you look up are sent to our price service so it can fetch public prices; no quantities or values travel with them. If the app crashes, a crash report (device model, OS version, the error; we attach no personal data and Sentry's data scrubbing is on) goes to Sentry (EU region) so we can fix it. That is the complete list. There are no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no trackers.
Your rights and your control
Export everything at any time from Profile, as a plain or encrypted file you can read without Sunward. Delete all your data from Profile in one tap; deletion is immediate and permanent. Delete your account the same way, which removes the email address too. Because we cannot read your vault, we cannot recover it for you: if you forget the passphrase and lose the twelve-word recovery phrase, the data is gone, by design. Under GDPR you also have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction and objection; for anything the app's own buttons do not cover, email us and we will answer within 30 days. You can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Delete your data or your account
In the app: Profile → Delete all data (keep my login) wipes your encrypted vault and history and leaves an empty account; Profile → Delete my account & all my data removes the vault, the history and your email address. Both are immediate and permanent; there is no recovery window because there is nothing left to recover.
Without the app (uninstalled, lost phone, cannot sign in): email hello@outerrimlabs.app from the address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete my Sunward account" (or "Delete my Sunward data" to keep the login). We delete within 30 days, usually the same day, and confirm by reply. Nothing else is kept: there are no backups of your vault beyond the database's own short-term recovery copies, which expire within 7 days.
Retention
Your encrypted file and email address are kept until you delete them. Crash reports are kept for 90 days. Server access logs are kept for as long as our hosting provider retains them (currently 7 days).
Children
Sunward is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes and the app's FAQ says so. We will not change what the app does with your data without telling you first.
